Big & Small

(Inspired by Juls n Lis)

TL;DR: Two clowns line up on a stage facing the audience, each with a different status (“big” or “small”). Working as a unit, the clowns move to the music while embodying their status. The game ends when each clown has a chance to perform each status.

What muscles we’re working: sharing focus, contrast, playing with status.

Directions

  1. Two clowns line up centerstage, facing the audience.

  2. Facilitator assigns each clown a status: “big” and “small”.

  3. Facilitator instructs clowns to turn their backs to the audience.

  4. When the song begins, the clowns turn around when they feel compelled.

  5. The clowns perform a dance together as a unit.

  6. When the song changes, the clowns switch statuses and begin the process again.

  7. The game ends when all clowns have a chance to embody each status (or when the second song ends).

  8. If time allows, clowns will pair off at the end and in front of the audience, do a pair share with one clown from the parade.
