Customer Service

Vera’s balancing a near-perfect career in customer service with a budding romance that you, her customers, never asked to witness.

While she's more than happy to double-check your authorization forms and provide the proper signatures required for your unprecedented request, she’s kind of busy right now.

Mind if she places you on a brief hold?

Customer Service is a fully immersive, mostly-clown, and partly existential unraveling of the roles we inhabit, the beliefs we unconsciously cling to, and what remains beneath them. Audiences describe Customer Service as:

"Wonderfully baffling and hilarious with surprising pathos at the end."
"An incredibly real depiction of someone who encourages classroom participation for the sole purpose of proving her power over them"
"A liminal space that feels genuinely eerie"

CAST & CREW

Meg Cantwell - Creator & Performer: Meg is a Boulder-based performance artist. Her comedic journey started in Boston with ImprovBoston & a long-form narrative indie improv team "Bearskin Rug" until moving to Colorado in Fall 2024 with her cat pals. She began exploring clown via Chaos Bloom Theater in the summer of 2025 and has been hooked ever since.

Her surrealist, absurdist work often begins as a personal thought experiment and later, unfolds into a journal entry, a spoken-word poem, or, in this case, a solo show. She's grateful for the supportive, oh-so-talented and welcoming Denver clown community & the various stages around Greater Denver that share their spaces for experimental comedy.

Alice Gillette - Director: Alice Gillette is a Denver-based director, producer, and teaching artist. She’s the founder of Denver’s Freaky Weeky Clown & Alt-Comedy Festival. Her solo show, Meat Show in Space, debuted at the 2025 Denver Fringe Festival and went on to run at venues across the US including The Elysian (LA) and Pig Iron Theatre (Philly).

Alice’s outside eye methodology is consent-forward and informed by her training with The Idiot Workshop, Cassie Ahiers, and Anne Zander. She specializes in helping performers find visceral, grounded inspiration to build layered, handcrafted worlds. Her work as a creator and educator has been featured by Colorado Public Radio and Denver Westword.
