Stand Up & Clown with Chad Damiani
STAND UP AND CLOWN
Chad Damiani is on a mission.
Save comedy from mediocrity. Or burn it all down.
Watch as he directs a group of performers through a perilous modern clown show – one that forces them to dig deep, give more and find dumb solutions to complex problems. Can these comics fully commit to nonsense and give the audience the show of their lives? Or will they crumble under the ruthless pressure of the one-and-only Clown Boss?
A glorious celebration of failure and the cruelest show in clown.

BUMPSY (Denver Fringe Festival)
BUMPSY
Bumpsy is a hallucinatory survival guide for the modern adult who’s pondering: “What happens when the childhood imagination gets an abortion?”
Don’t worry! Bumpsy’s doing her best. She starts every day with morning pages and a light suckle from the titty of her smartphone. Today, she’s searching for enlightenment while dodging her mother’s obsession with being only “five pounds away” from a life that matters.
(Wait… we have to maintain our bodies AND exchange our time for money for… *gestures at everything* this?!)
Mid-scroll, a freak accident turns Bumpsy’s routine into a literal death trap. She's forced to confront if any of this matters while hoping someone’s recording this for content (*fingers crossed*).
Accompanied by a live score and a handcrafted world, Katie Bowman delivers a visceral clown show where the audience is the muse and the protagonist just wants to survive her own funeral.
FEATURING
Katie Bowman (writer, performer)
Alice Gillette (director, live foley)
Bryan Richard Martin (live musical scoring)
ABOUT THE CAST & CREW
Katie Bowman is a comedic performer and artist based out of Denver. Bowman has been bopping around the Denver comedy scene since 2014 with a background in improv, stand-up, clown, and the visual arts. Bowman has been featured on comedy festivals and podcasts all over the country and released her first comedy special/album with Burn This Records in 2024 titled, Neurodivergent Nightmare. Her album also hit Number 1 on iTunes and Amazon the week it came out.
Alice Gillette (director/outside eye) and Bryan Richard Martin (composer/live scoring) help performers find the specific, visceral inspiration already living inside them.
By combining Alice’s consent-forward physical comedy experience with Bryan’s background in multidisciplinary composition, they help performing artists build grounded and layered worlds. Their process relies on helping artists craft a live dialogue between movement and sound onstage using a shorthand they’ve developed at venues like The Elysian (Los Angeles), The People’s Building (Aurora) and The Pig Iron Theatre Company (Philly).
Most recently, they collaborated on a national run of Meat Show in Space and founded the Freaky Weeky Clown and Alt-Comedy Festival at Denver’s Buntport Theater. Their individual and collaborative work has been in NPR, Vice, Rolling Stone and Denver Westword.
HYSTERICAL (Denver Fringe Festival)
HYSTERICAL
A (gorgeous) woman has been performing this room for years. Usually to nobody. Tonight you're here. She's been waiting for this. She's afraid to find out why.
A clown thriller.
There is audience interaction. Nobody leaves their seat.
FEATURING
Jackie Skinner (writer, performer)
Alice Gillette (ensemble)
Bryan Richard Martin (sound)
ABOUT JACKIE
Jackie Skinner is a performance artist from Waltham, Massachusetts, a place she has since left to now live in Los Angeles. Recently, their show "Jackie and Allison Into the Multiverse" toured comedy festivals across the US. The Boston Globe called it "elevating absurdity to art," which Jackie has had framed, and the show won BEST COMEDY and SELL OUT awards at the 2025 NYC Fringe.
She's studied multiple comedy formats at UCB, Second City, Magnet Theater, and Hideout Theater, and has studied clown with Aitor Basauri, Chris Bayes, Phil Burgers/Doc Brown, and The Idiot Workshop. She's brought past works to Edinburgh Fringe (A Beautiful Night), Boston Fringe (Jackie & Allison), New York City Fringe (Jackie & Allison), and Philly Fringe (Composed). Right now she's in Denver. She's standing behind you.
Customer Service (Denver Fringe Festival)
Customer Service
Vera’s balancing a near-perfect career in customer service with a budding romance that you, her customers, never asked to witness.
While she's more than happy to double-check your authorization forms and provide the proper signatures required for your unprecedented request, she’s kind of busy right now.
Mind if she places you on a brief hold?
Customer Service is a fully immersive, mostly-clown, and partly existential unraveling of the roles we inhabit, the beliefs we unconsciously cling to, and what remains beneath them. Audiences describe Customer Service as:
"Wonderfully baffling and hilarious with surprising pathos at the end."
"An incredibly real depiction of someone who encourages classroom participation for the sole purpose of proving her power over them"
"A liminal space that feels genuinely eerie"
CAST & CREW
Meg Cantwell - Creator & Performer: Meg is a Boulder-based performance artist. Her comedic journey started in Boston with ImprovBoston & a long-form narrative indie improv team "Bearskin Rug" until moving to Colorado in Fall 2024 with her cat pals. She began exploring clown via Chaos Bloom Theater in the summer of 2025 and has been hooked ever since.
Her surrealist, absurdist work often begins as a personal thought experiment and later, unfolds into a journal entry, a spoken-word poem, or, in this case, a solo show. She's grateful for the supportive, oh-so-talented and welcoming Denver clown community & the various stages around Greater Denver that share their spaces for experimental comedy.
Alice Gillette - Director: Alice Gillette is a Denver-based director, producer, and teaching artist. She’s the founder of Denver’s Freaky Weeky Clown & Alt-Comedy Festival. Her solo show, Meat Show in Space, debuted at the 2025 Denver Fringe Festival and went on to run at venues across the US including The Elysian (LA) and Pig Iron Theatre (Philly).
Alice’s outside eye methodology is consent-forward and informed by her training with The Idiot Workshop, Cassie Ahiers, and Anne Zander. She specializes in helping performers find visceral, grounded inspiration to build layered, handcrafted worlds. Her work as a creator and educator has been featured by Colorado Public Radio and Denver Westword.

Event description:
Mixed Messages is a 90-minute live multimedia experience built like a puzzle—fusing sketch comedy, original music videos, and surreal storytelling into a single emotional arc. What begins as flipping through a strange, alternate-universe TV service slowly transforms into something deeper. Characters jump between stage and screen, stories echo, and emotional threads quietly tighten.
Featuring unreleased music and video you won’t find anywhere else, the show delivers a one-night-only experience that’s funny, raw, and emotionally disorienting in the best way—exploring the thrill of love, the ache of miscommunication, and the patterns we can’t seem to break.
You’ll want to see it again the moment it’s over.

Meat Show in Space (DUMB HUB @ Philly Fringe) - Night 3
Meat Show in Space is a subversive clown odyssey crashing into the Philly Fringe Festival as part of Dumb Hub.
Created & performed by Alice Gillette, this one-woman solo show follows a trash-collecting astronaut in a cracked helmet, desperately pleading with the stars (played by the audience) for one more wish: to be remembered as a hero with a girlfriend & not just as useless space junk.
It's a ridiculous, emotional & weirdly tender experience, like Wrestlemania meets The Truman Show meets Toy Story … in zero gravity.
Equal parts surreal & sincere, Meat Show in Space is a lo-fi hero’s journey that features live music, middle fingers to “Big NASA” & diabolical emotional depth. The show puts big feelings in a spacesuit & watches them explode.

Jesting Grounds
Alice Gillette performing for Jesting Grounds in her first backyard show that features chickens.
Meat Show in Space (Denver Fringe Festival)
On his first day aboard a trash-collecting space station under NASA’s iron grip, Meat Show cracks his helmet during his inaugural space walk— what a butterfingers! With oxygen running low and a final wish on his lips, he pleads with the audience (aka "the stars") for one last chance to return to his beloved, earthly Babe as a high-value hero.
While gasping for air (and for more wishes), Meat Show begins to realize that true love might cost him everything.
In this unhinged twist on Aesop’s Fables, Meat Show must decide if the power of authentic connection is worth defying a system that will stop at nothing to keep him in line. Fueled by a live, pulsating score, Meat Show’s odyssey through the cosmos challenges all Earthlings to ask: why does all of this matter… matter?
Blending incisive social commentary with offbeat clowning, Meat Show in Space is a subversive, post-apocalyptic alt-comedy that’s as absurd as it is sincere.
